WHAT’S NEW

Four new, accredited educational modules are launched

New educational content about pain and its management, accredited by the European Board for Accreditation of Continuing Education for Health Professionals (EBAC), has been launched by LEAP – learning about pain.

New continuing medical education (CME) content, which has been accredited by the European Board for Accreditation of Continuing Education for Health Professionals (EBAC) was recently launched by LEAP – learning about pain. The content has been developed in collaboration with internationally renowned pain expert, Professor Bart Morlion, using an educational grant from Grünenthal – the pharmaceutical company behind CHANGE PAIN.

There are currently four modules on the LEAP platform:

  • Optimising communication between healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients
  • Biopsychosocial pain management
  • Chronic low back pain
  • Neuropathic pain

These topics were identified by pain specialists as key areas in which HCPs need additional education in order to improve patient outcomes. As such, the modules are aimed at all HCPs working, or who have an interest, in pain management (for example, general practitioners, internal medicine specialists, nurses, physiotherapists). Each module is worth one continuing professional development (CPD) credit and has been designed to take 60 minutes to complete, including a learning assessment.

CHANGE PAIN considers education and communication critical parts of its mission to support the enhancement of patient outcomes by improving pain management. Therefore, we are proud to promote this new CME content.

If you are interested in learning more about the basics of pain, before launching these CME modules, check out Pain Basics here on the CHANGE PAIN website.
